I was so looking forward to this wedding. After getting to know Shelby and Joe during their engagement session, I knew it would be a lot of fun and boy was it! Their wedding party was awesome, their families treated us like family and we got to witness something we have never seen before and likely will never see again in a wedding – Mr. Potato Head. As Joe read his vows to Shelby, he spoke of having ears to listen and arms to hold and protect, all while placing the appropriate parts to the plastic spud. Then, right after the minister declared them husband and wife and told Joe that he may kiss his bride, Joe paused, took a sip of water, had his best man straighten his jacket, did a hand slap/handshake and finally turned around and planted a huge kiss on his wife. This is probably the first and last wedding I’ll ever photograph where the kiss shot has the groom holding the bride by the face and the bride has her hands on her hips! It was too funny – the entire congregation was in stitches. They pledged their devotion to one another at the Emory Presbyterian Church followed by their reception at the Emory Conference Center Hotel.
Shelby and Joe, it was a genuine pleasure to be a part of your amazing day. Thank you so much and may your marriage be filled with the love, fun and laughter that was so prevalent on your wedding day.
